PhD - First work

Initial work for the PhD (Materialising parental suicide) at York St. John University was based on a Christmas card received from my late father. In it he says “with all my love Daddy’. My response to this was that if he had meant that then he would not have left us. This is the response of my seventeen year old self - the point at which our relationship stopped.

Tansa - Threads of Japanese Influence

I am honoured to be taking part in this stunning exhibition alongside some amazing UK and Japanese artists. It starts at the Craft Study Centre, Farnham, next at the South Hill Park Arts Centre, Bracknell and finally in Kyoto, Japan.

Oxmarket, Chichester

The Makers’ Art Collective spring 2021 exhibition will be at the Oxmarket in Chichester this year. We open on Tuesday 13th April. https://oxmarket.com/whats-on/

This is a recent piece called ‘Treading Water’ (organza, dahlia petals, paper and wire). It is a response to the pandemic, how our lives seem to be on hold in may ways and what we are missing.

Farnham Maltings - first Pop up Shop - Saturday 5th October

Along with some fellow artists from The Makers’ Art Collective, I will be selling my first product, drawstring bags recently showcased at the OXO Tower exhibition, in a Pop Up Shop in Farnham tomorrow only.

The designs are inspired by my work with the dahlias and the work exploring the relationship of a sheer cloth on the body.

We will be at Farnham Maltings, Bridge Square, Farnham GU9 7QR, Saturday 5th October 2019.

Farnham Kites

Charlie Brown used to lose his kite to the Kite Eating Tree - a metaphor apparently for adversities of life. Here at Farnham my kites are stuck in the trees, but only temporarily, soon they will be on their way.
